Biography
Liam is a first-year doctoral student in the Boston College History department, where he is studying Postwar American History (1945-Present). He received his B.A. in Greek & Latin Language and Literature, Classical Studies, and American Studies at Saint Louis University, during which time he served as the Alderman of the 12th Ward for the City of St. Louis. Being both the youngest elected official in the State of Missouri while also being a first-generation student afforded him a unique opportunity to unite public service and scholarship in the pursuit of restorative justice for historic harms against marginalized St. Louisans. His scholarship pursues a better understanding of the intersections between collective memory, postwar public housing, and the use of federal law and constitutional philosophy to redefine the boundaries between—and within—the American home, city, and suburb.
