Profile

My research focuses on using optical backscatter data taken from the Ocean Observatories Initiative as a proxy for particulate organic carbon. To this end I hope to better understand the biological pump in the high latitudes of the North Atlantic. I am further interested in science outreach and communication, and look forward to continuing to identify opportunities to make broad impacts on the community through my scientific work.

Why did you chose Boston College for graduate school?

I chose Boston College’s MS in Geology program due to the small departmental size and the direct support the faculty offer their graduate students, as well as the opportunity to teach and mentor undergraduate students as a graduate teaching assistant.
