Household Finance; and Real Estate
Justin Katz is an assistant professor in the Seidner Department of Finance at the Boston College Carroll School of Management. His research identifies institutional and behavioral frictions in household debt management. Katz studies impacts on market equilibrium, fiscal and monetary policy, and lender competition, with a focus on mortgage and housing markets.
His work has been covered by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, NPR, and National Affairs. During his doctoral studies, Katz was a graduate research fellow at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and a member of the Harvard Kennedy School's Reimagining the Economy project. He earned a Ph.D. in business economics from Harvard University and a BA in economics and mathematics from Yale University.
