Profile

Digital Pedagogy Consultant & Ph.D. Candidate, Boston College

I am a designer, researcher, and educator specializing in multimodal composition, community literacy, and alternative assessment practices.

As a Ph.D. candidate in the English Department, my work is situated at the crossroads of several subfields in Rhetoric and Composition, including DIY/craft rhetorics and activist rhetorics. I'm particularly interested in multimodal, nontraditional feminist publications such as zines, quilts, and other textile-based compositions.

As an educator with a decade's experience working with middle school to adult learners, I incorporate Universal Design for Learning, trauma-informed, and anti-racist assessment practices in my curricular design.

My work as a Digital Pedagogy Consultant on the Faculty Development and Innovation Team at the Center for Digital Innovation in Learning brings my expertise in Design Thinking to bear on faculty development for face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning contexts.

I'm originally from Sacramento, California, and I hold an M.A. in American Studies from Pepperdine University and a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in English from the University of California, Davis. I received my teaching certification from Loyola Marymount University through the LMU | Teach For America Partnership.
