Christopher Steven McCormick is a doctoral student in History of Christianity with a prospective minor in Systematic Theology. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Christopher completed his undergraduate studies at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Most recently, Christopher studied theology at the Gloria L. and Charles I. Clough School of Theology and Ministry, before beginning Ph.D. studies in the Theology Department at the Graduate School of Morrissey College.
Christopher’s primary interests lie in Christology, as well as in the intersection of Trinitarian and Christological questions, in the Patristic period. Christopher is not limited to that scope; he is also interested in the medieval and contemporary reception and relitigation of the Trinitarian and Christological questions.
In the contemporary period, Christopher is especially interested in the ecumenical possibilities offered by a robust return to the sources of schisms which divide Christians even to this day. Patristic and medieval sources present exciting possibilities for renewed mutual understanding between the various Christian communities that inherit those sources, and Christoher is excited to experience, and perhaps contribute to, that ecumenical renewal.
