West Africa and the African Diaspora
Atlantic History and Gender History
Kene' M. Anemene is a historian of West Africa and the African diaspora. His research primarily explores Atlantic History and Gender History. Specifically, his work moves beyond the stereotypical victimhood narrative (about women) to examine the survival strategies of African women during war, their roles in war efforts, and the varied manifestations of their contributions in social roles. His proficiency in Mandarin Chinese positions him to uniquely analyze his research through Chinese language sources.
Outside of academia, he is dedicated to mentoring underserved young Africans and promoting educational development across Nigeria.
