Are you entering BC in the fall?
The Theatre Department welcomes you. We are an open and inclusive community that offers a range of opportunities, academic and extra-curricular, to anybody ready to spread their creative wings. No previous experience is required.
We look forward to meeting you. Stop by the Robsham Theatre Arts Center at any time and say hello. Even before you get here, there are a couple things we want you to know.
The Performance and Production Program
The first week of school can be rather hectic and disorienting. We tend to hit the ground running and we would love for you to join us. Please take note of the following important events that week.
General Information Meeting & Ice Cream Social
During the first week of school there will be a meeting for all new and returning theater students. If you are a major, or a possible major, you should attend this meeting as it will cover important information about academic programming for the coming year including workshops, guest artists, new courses, and how to get involved—onstage and backstage.
At the end of the first week the Theatre department and two student groups—the Dramatics Society and Contemporary Theatre—will hold auditions for fall term productions. Details about the auditions.

Dramatic Structure and Theatrical Process (DSTP)
If you are planning on becoming a theater major, or even seriously considering it, you should take THTR 1172 - Dramatic Structure and Theatrical Process in your first term. DSTP is the entry-level course for the major. Whether you come to one of the FYE (First Year Experience) sessions over the summer or the big one in the fall, tell the faculty adviser helping you sign up for courses that you want to take this course. If it is full when you try to sign up, please contact Professor Scott Cummings.
We'll see you in September. In the meantime have a great summer!
