There are many ways to get involved with Mass at Boston College. The Chapel Choirs & BC Bells of the Liturgy Arts Group serve the Boston College community by sharing gifts of music. Our student liturgies are enhanced by the talents and gifts of many people. We invite all students to participate and hope you will find a home here with us.

BC Bells collaborates with our Chapel Choirs to enhance our University liturgies. Additionally, the group independently performs concerts throughout our BC community. No experience is needed. Learning Outcomes

Boston College student holding a cross at Mass.

After participating in the Liturgy Arts Group (LAG), students will be able to:

  • 1. Participate as a fully functioning member of a church music ministry, both during their college years and beyond, on several levels: vocal or instrumental, cantor or psalmist.
  • 2. Develop leadership skills as members of the Executive Board, Retreat Planning Committee, or Liturgy Planning Committee. These skills transfer to lifelong participation and or leadership in parish, diocesan, national, or international music ministry upon graduation.
  • 3. Because LAG is an “ensemble”, their four pillars of Faith/Spirituality, Service, Community, and Social Justice inform their holistic approach to their formation, i.e., cura personalis and becoming men and women for others. The empirical evidence can be found in the vocations that many of them have chosen as professions. Very often they are dedicated to “Faith, Service, Community” or some combination of all four.
