Profile

Giovanni Pietro Basile, SJ studied physics, theology, and philosophy. He did his Ph.D. in Philosophy at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, with a dissertation on Kant’s Opus postumum. He has taught at the Munich School of Philosophy and at the LMU Munich and is also doing his Habilitation at the LMU Munich with a project on the modern metaphoric of the state as a machine and its critic by Kant. He has been appointed to the Gasson Chair at Boston College for the academic year 2020-2021.
