Nondegree Students
Students interested in nondegree coursework sould apply for Special Student status by submitting an application form, a non-refundable application fee of $75, and a statement of purpose. Admission as a Special Student does not guarantee subsequent admission to a degree program.
Students are admitted for one semester and can only take courses within the department. Permission to take courses beyond one semester must be obtained from the Director of Graduate Studies.
Special Students are not eligible for departmental financial aid. International students will not be considered for Special Student status unless they are currently enrolled full-time at another U.S. institution.
Admission does not guarantee subsequent admission for degree candidacy. Individuals admitted as Special Students, who subsequently wish to apply for degree study, must file additional application documents and be accepted for degree study.
