CONFIDE-ADRD

CONFIDE-ADRD

Project Details

The goal of this P30 grant funded by NIA is to develop, optimize, test, and implement dementia dyadic interventions across the spectrum of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) in both hospital and community settings to improve the health of both persons with dementia and their care partners.

Methodology

We currently have two funded trials focused on early-stage dementia dyads. Let's Talk Tech (PI: Berridge, University of Washington) is a program that facilitates conversations within care dyads around the use of technology. SHARE (PI: Orsulic-Jeras, Benjamin Rose Institute) is a culturally adapted program to support dyadic communication around values and preferences of the person with dementia, use of resources, and shared care planning in a sample of Black/African-American care dyads.
