Out of 503 schools ranked, the Carroll School of Management rose to the 21st spot (up from 24 last year) in the 2019 U.S. News & World Report’s rankings of the nation’s best undergraduate business programs, announced this week.

Several of the Carroll School’s specialty areas landed high in the rankings. The finance concentration scored the #9 spot, up from #11. Meanwhile, the management program leapt to #11 from #23, and entrepreneurship climbed from #23 in 2017 to #13 in the new ranking.

The U.S. News rankings, encompassing American schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, are based on surveys of business school deans.

Using a different methodology and a wider set of criteria, Bloomberg Businessweek ranked the Carroll School #3 among undergraduate business programs in 2016, the last year Bloomberg compiled its rankings.
