Visiting Assistant Professor of the Practice
Raymond Gasser, DNP, MS, RN, is a visiting assistant professor of the practice at the Connell School of Nursing. Dr. Gasser recently completed his doctoral training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, with dual concentrations in family nursing practice and psychiatric and mental health nursing practice. He completed his undergraduate nursing education at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. Dr. Gasser also received master's and bachelor's degrees in computer science from Louisiana Tech University. His clinical background is in emergency, inpatient psychiatry, and cardiac nursing. His research interests include 1) trauma-informed care among adolescent and young adult survivors and 2) data visualization and technology in nursing. Dr. Gasser teaches psychiatric mental health nursing theory and population health nursing theory. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and Upsilon Pi Epsilon International Honor Society for Computing.
