Lian Fen Lee obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Her research interests are in the areas of financial reporting and disclosure, and the role of information intermediaries. Her research has been published in leading academic journals including the Accounting Review and Journal of Accounting Research.
In 2010, Professor Lee received the American Accounting Association Competitive Manuscript Award for her solo-authored paper “Incentives to inflate reported cash from operations using classification and timing.”
Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Professor Lee worked in the Singapore offices of Arthur Andersen and Ernst and Young.
