Amy LaCombe

Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs

Profile

As associate dean for undergraduate curriculum, Amy LaCombe is a key leader in the Carroll School’s undergraduate program. Among other responsibilities, she serves as dean of the freshman class, chairs the Portico program, collaborates with the undergraduate curriculum committee, and works with the Winston Center on curricular offerings and student programming.

Dean LaCombe previously served as assistant dean for advising in the Carroll School’s Undergraduate Program, where she had primary responsibilities for advising sophomores and juniors. She has also taught first year courses like “The Courage To Know” and “Introduction to Ethics.” She also served on the Portico faculty and was a full-time lecturer in the Accounting Department, teaching courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, and assurance services in the M.S.A. program.

Dean LaCombe’s dissertation research focused on whether first generation student status is a predictor of factors such as graduation rate, grade point average, and choice of study.

She is currently the faculty advisor to the Best Buddies chapter at Boston College. Amy has also served as the faculty advisor to AHANA Management Academy and advised students throughout her more than 18 years at Boston College.
