The Landscape Services department is responsible for the beauty and safety of the four Boston College campuses through all seasons. The Landscape Services team is committed to maintaining a sustainable campus landscape through water conservation and integrated pest management. Best practices are used to manage and maintain 284 acres of land consisting of over 6,300 trees and 117 acres of lawn. In the fall, 15,000 bulbs are planted so that the community is greeted with color and beauty once the winter fades. In addition to caring for the outdoor landscape and hardscape, the team is responsible for snow removal operations including approximately 75 acres of parking lots and sidewalks and more than 200 staircases. Finally, this same team supports the Event Management Department in setting up for indoor/outdoor events.
