Flourishing Together Conference Addressing Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation
Monday, Oct 6, 2025- Friday, Oct 10, 2025 | Multiple Locations | Register to Attend
Flourishing Together is a cross-disciplinary collaboration between the Boston College Libraries (BCL) and numerous other university partners, all of whom are deeply concerned about the risks associated with loneliness and isolation on our university campus. The initiative was conceived in response to the 2023 advisory “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation,” published by Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, Surgeon General of the United States, in which loneliness and its implications for health and human happiness were clearly elucidated. The BC initiative will begin with a launch event featuring expert speakers on the topic of loneliness and its remedies. That event will conclude with a shared lunch and a poster session promoting the events in the week ahead, including multiple library exhibits and a rich slate of departmental programs emphasizing human connectedness and community-building. Flourishing Together aims to create lasting resources (and relationships) and to promote a healthier, more connected campus community.
