Biography

Josh Rosen studies the social and political history of 20th century America, and is broadly interested in how capitalism has shaped American society and culture. He is currently considering research on the politics of education and housing in late 20th century New York City.

Rosen is also interested in history education and public history. Before starting his Ph.D., he taught AP US History for five years at Bronx Compass High School, where he was a chapter leader in the United Federation of Teachers. Rosen also worked as an educator at the Tenement Museum, an immigration and migration history museum on New York’s Lower East Side.
