Biography

Paloma’s research focuses on Irish identities and cultural memory in the revolutionary period. She is particularly interested in the role of nationalist song within the separatist movement and song’s unique ability to disseminate and embed anticolonial narratives.

Paloma completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Melbourne with a focus on 20th century European history. Her Honours thesis was concerned with narratives of political violence in Irish nationalist song, the uses of those songs by separatists and the responses of colonial authorities.
