Elizabeth T. Goizueta

Biography

Former Assistant Director for Spain and Latin America at Boston College’s Office of International Programs, Elizabeth T. Goizueta currently teaches in the Hispanic Studies section of the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. While at OIP, Prof. Goizueta helped integrate students’ study-abroad experience into the broader curriculum at Boston College. Her research interests are focused on the relationship between art and literature in twentieth-century Latin America and Spain. She works closely with BC’s McMullen Museum of Art to promote Latin American art. At the McMullen she curated an exhibition on the Chilean surrealist artist Roberto Matta and is currently working on a 2014 retrospective on the Cuban surrealist Wifredo Lam.

Elizabeth loves to run in the early morning, bake bread, and eat chocolate, not necessarily in that order. She lives in Brookline with her daughter, her husband (who teaches in BC’s Theology Department), and her beloved American Foxhound, Homer.
