Giving
Gifts to the Discretionary Fund of the Sociology Department will help us enrich the research of our students and train a new generation of scholars from diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. We use these funds to help cover the expenses of undergraduate students doing primary research, such as travel to domestic or international sites, payment to interviewees, and assistance with transcription. Gift funds also support research fellowships that allow graduate students to work on research and writing during the summer months rather than taking on extra employment.
