Laid-off Workers Boosted by Gig Economy

Is the gig economy good for workers recently laid off from their jobs? In some ways, yes, according to a team including Vyacheslav Fos and Jordan Nickerson (Finance). Looking specifically at Uber drivers, the researchers say such workers are less likely to apply for unemployment insurance, "rely less on household debt, and experience fewer delinquencies."
