Due to the size and extraordinary talent of our transfer fall applicant pool, we are unable to offer admission to many deserving and qualified candidates. In recognition of their continued interest in Boston College, the Committee on Transfer Admission has identified 40 candidates from the waiting list who have been offered admission through our guaranteed January enrollment option. Students invited to this alternate enrollment option have presented strong academic credentials and demonstrated enthusiasm for the University through their applications and we are delighted to offer them an opportunity to enroll in January 2019.
We hope that the below information will assist you in making your enrollment decision.
To provide us with your fall coursework, please email transfer@bc.edu. We will then send you an updated D.E.G.R.E. Audit, explanation letter, and graduation term. Please see below "Fall Coursework" F.A.Q. for more information.

When will I receive information on orientation, academic advising, etc.?
Official communication regarding January orientation, advising, and move-in (if applicable) will be sent via email in late November. However, the Office of Undergraduate Admission will be in touch periodically in the late summer and fall with pertinent updates and reminders.
Is the interest form a binding confirmation?
No, the interest form is simply a way for the Office of Undergraduate Admission to assess which candidates are interested in pursuing the January enrollment option. We will only evaluate credit for those students who have completed the form and indicated that they are interested in January 2019 enrollment.
Will I receive information on my graduation term, transferrable credit, and financial aid before the enrollment confirmation deadline?
We plan to release credit evaluation information in the week following the interest form submission deadline. That will give you ample time to understand how your courses may transfer to Boston College, and also reach out to our office with any questions.
Will accepting this offer delay my graduation term?
If you had planned on taking fall courses and choose not to, your graduation term may be delayed. If you choose you may enroll at another regionally accredited college or university during the fall and transfer additional courses (to a maximum of 60 credits) to Boston College. More information can be found in the "Fall Coursework" tab below.
Can I still apply for financial aid?
Yes, you are still eligibile to apply for financial aid. The Office of Student Services will be notified of all students who have indicated that they are interested in January enrollment. Once the appropriate paperwork has been submitted, a financial aid award for the Spring 2019 term will be available to view on the Agora Portal. If you have questions about the status of your financial aid applications, please contact Student Services at 617-552-3300.
What is the D.E.G.R.E. Audit?
The DEGREE audit indicates how the courses that you completed prior to enrollment at Boston College will apply toward the degree requirements for the program of study you have selected. Review the audit key for additional details about understanding your audit. The Explanation Letter provides important details about your graduation term and the requirements specific to your intended major (if declared). The Office of Transfer Admission may also request additional documentation to complete our evaluation of your previous coursework.
I have a question about how my courses were evaluated. Who should I contact?
The Office of Transfer Admission reviews previous coursework and can award credit to fulfill core requirements and elective slots. If you have general questions about how your course work has transferred, please contact the Transfer Admission Office directly at 617-552-3100 and we would be happy to assist you.
Why weren't any courses approved for my intended major?
Our office is not able to assign credit toward a major- we are only able to assign credit toward core requirements and award elective credit. Should you have any questions regarding how your coursework might apply toward your intended major, we suggest you contact the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the department of interest. Click here to view the department contact information. (PDF reader required)
When will I register for spring 2019 courses?
You will register for your spring courses at January Orientation.
Will fall coursework that I complete be applied toward my Boston College degree?
All fall coursework will be evaluated in the same way that your previous coursework was. Please note that with additional coursework, the graduation term on your D.E.G.R.E. Audit and Explanation Letter may change.
How do I let the Office of Undergraduate Admission know what fall courses I am enrolled in?
