Profile

Richard Nielsen works as a participatory action researcher, educator, and consultant in the areas of ethics intervention and corruption reform methods. He was elected to the Board of Directors and will be serving as President and Program Chair of the Society For Business Ethics. He is currently serving as Senior Editor for Ethics and Social Responsibility related articles of Organization Studies, the journal of the European Group for Organizational Studies.

Richard Nielsen’s publications include The Politics of Ethics: Methods for Acting, Learning, and Sometimes Fighting With Others in Addressing Problems in Organizational Life (The Ruffin Series in Business Ethics). In addition, he has published more than 75 articles in journals such as Academy of Management ReviewAcademy of Management ExecutiveBusiness Ethics QuarterlyBusiness Ethics: A European Review, Business and SocietyJournal of Business EthicsJournal of Management InquiryOrganization Studies, and Strategic Management Journal.

He has consulted and done executive training work in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America with many organizations such as the American Friends Service Committee, the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration, Bank of Norway Investment Management Fund, Carrefour, Citigroup, Eurobank, the European Union, IBM, New York City, NovoNordisk, the Peace Research Institute of Oslo, the United Nations, the U.S. Office of Education, and the WGBH Educational Foundation.
