As a Jesuit, Catholic university that challenges students to use their education to address society’s most pressing needs, we are compelled to combat systemic racism.
The killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other Black Americans point to our nation’s failure to provide dignity, justice, and equal rights for all Americans. Black Lives Matter. We’ve reached a critical inflection point for our country, and how each one of us responds matters as well.
Boston College has created the Forum on Racial Justice in America to reimagine our role in higher education, the nation, and the world. The Forum begins in Fall 2020 and will challenge each member of our community to “observe, judge, and act” in order to reject racism and promote change. We invite you to learn more about the Forum and the resources to support diversity at Boston College as you explore the university.
We are committed to this work. To that end, we encourage prospective students to be engaged participants and leaders in antiracism initiatives in their high schools and communities, striving toward the principle of justice for all. Racism is everyone’s problem. How will you respond?

“We seek students who are bright, curious, passionate, and engaged. As a Jesuit university, Boston College emphasizes liberal arts education, character development, and the cultivation of leaders. Our mission is to graduate men and women who know how to think, make decisions, communicate, and act with integrity.”
