The Student Development and Leadership Programs offered by the Winston Center are a testament to the Center’s and BC’s mission. By offering students a variety of ways to grow their leadership skills, meet young leaders from various backgrounds, and become leaders in their own right, the Center strives to create a new generation of ethical leaders.
"As a graduating Senior, I am thankful for my time at Boston College and being a part of the Winston Center for Leadership and Ethics. I joined the Jenks Leadership Program my freshman year and participated in the two-year program that concluded with a Service Project at St. Columbkille's Elementary School. I am grateful for the various leadership qualities and experiences I had during my time in the Jenks Leadership program. In the fall of my senior year, I attended a "Lunch with a Leader" session with Brendan Hickey from Oracle. After networking with him and the corporation, three rounds of interviews, and plenty of practice of sales skills, I received a job offer. I will be working as an Inside Sales Representative post graduation and have the Winston Center for Leadership and Ethics to thank for it. The various leadership and public speaking skills I learned as a Jenks member combined with the networking events like Lunch with a Leader have given me something I will be eternally grateful for: a job. I wish the Winston Center all the best in the future as it has given me a promising future of my own. Thank you!"
