Global Public Health and the Common Good

BC@UNCOP - UN Climate Conference

Boston College is an official Observer Organization for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, also referred to as the Conference of the Parties or COP. This highly influential annual global event serves as the center of global climate change policymaking.

Chris Citorik and David Deese co-host “Climate Reveal,” a serious, accessible podcast that tracks energy and climate from basics to complexities, featuring top experts in clear, timely conversations.

Working For & With Communities

Working For and With Communities is a signature program of the Institute. It is a two-part sequence that prioritizes teaching students to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, helping students recognize and appreciate differences while fostering collaboration.

Program on Global Ethics and Social Trust

The Schiller Institute is a proud partner with the Program on Global Ethics and Social Trust. Our Core faculty member Hanqin Tian serves as one of the global experts for this initiative, and we share a mission for serving the global common good.

Conferences & Speaker Series

The Schiller Institute hosts and co-hosts a variety of conferences, workshops, and speaker series. Programs include the Distinguished Lecture Series and a newly launched series connecting BC faculty and students with active journalists.

Confronting Environmental Racism

In the Spring 2021 semester, the Schiller Institute undertook a concerted, interdisciplinary effort to explore the origins, extent, and effects of environmental racism and began a series of discussions aimed at working toward approaches to combating this deadly injustice.
