Research

The Schiller Institute is committed to supporting BC faculty, students, and staff conducting interdisciplinary research through grant funding, training, and events aimed at connecting individuals with similar research interests across disciplines, schools, and research methodologies.

  • Through our Core faculty and staff, the Schiller Institute is producing important research on climate change, planetary health, and interdisciplinarity in the academy.
  • The Schiller Institute is proud to house the Global Observatory on Planetary Health under the direction of Dr. Philip J. Landrigan and co-director Dr. Kurt Straif.
  • Over the past two years,  through our internal faculty grant program, Schiller Institute Grants for Exploratory Collaborative Scholarship (SI-GECS), we have awarded 27 awards to 124 faculty members across campus, totaling $830,000.
