October 2018
The Boston College Community extends our thoughts and prayers to families impacted by the recent hurricanes in the southern states. The damage caused to homes, properties, power lines, shorelines, and communities is devastating. We hope that your property has been spared, but more importantly, we hope that you and your loved ones have escaped harm.
While the college application process is an important part of high school seniors’ lives, the health of your family and returning to your homes should be your top priority at this time. For high school seniors who are without power or who will not be in school during the week leading up to November 1, we offer the following information to assist you at this time.
If you are a Boston College Early Action candidate who has been affected by one of the storms:
- Boston College will extend its Early Action deadline for students affected by the storms until midnight on Friday, November 2. Students unable to meet this deadline should contact Undergraduate Admission at 617-552-3100. We will work with students on an individual basis to complete your application.
- Please be aware that admission to Boston College during the Early Action round is more competitive than during Regular Decision. Therefore, if you need even more time to complete your application, we recommend that you apply during our Regular Decision round. Because the majority of our class is filled during the Regular Decision round, you will not be at a disadvantage by waiting until January 1 to submit your Regular Decision application.
- If it is easier for you, your teachers, or your counselors to submit paper versions of your application and credentials, please send them to: Boston College Undergraduate Admission Processing Center, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.
We realize that storm damage to some regions will take weeks or months to rebuild. We are grateful to those who have provided assistance and support in responding to the immediate needs of those affected. For those who have sustained significant loss, you remain in our prayers as you rebuild.
Sincerely,
Grant M. Gosselin
Director of Undergraduate Admission
