The Institute for Liberal Arts has awarded a major grant to the Journalism Program and its partners for 2025-2026, with the aim of centering Boston College in cultural, social and political conversations about the changing climate.
The Journalism and Environmental Studies programs will be collaborating with the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society on year-long event series, called Climate Is Every Story, that will bring high-profile journalists to campus for engagement and discussion with faculty and students.
To showcase the series, the program will launch a Climate Is Every Story microsite hosted by the Schiller Institute. The publication, which would be presented in a digital magazine format, will cover the event series and also be a home for campus-wide climate news. It would be populated primarily by student-produced media, which would give Journalism students an opportunity to develop their skills in interviewing, event coverage, and multimedia.
