Alexander L. Auld

Ph.D.

Originally from Scotland, Alexander earned his B.S. from Robert Gordon University and his M.S. from the University of Aberdeen. For his thesis work, he investigated the mechanisms by which nuclei influence the assembly and stability of the myofibril network. Alexander defended his thesis in June 2018 and is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Laurie Boyer at MIT studying heart muscle development.

Mary Ann Collins

Ph.D.

Originally from New Jersey, Mary Ann earned her B.S. and her M.S. in Chemical Biology from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2014. Mary Ann’s thesis work included studying mechanisms of nuclear movement during embryonic muscle development with a focus on how genes associated with Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM) and Emery-Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy (EDMD) impact nuclear positioning. Mary Ann defended her thesis in January 2020 and is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at MIT.

Torrey Mandigo

Ph.D.

Originally from Vermont, Torrey earned his B.A. in Biology from the University of Vermont in 2013. For his thesis work, he investigated the mechanisms that maintain nuclei in their positions relative to one another during robust muscle growth. Torrey defended his thesis in May 2020.
