Asian Studies is an interdisciplinary program open to all students across the university. It is sustained by faculty from eight MCAS departments with expertise in East Asia, South Asia, and Central Asia. It offers students the tools to pursue individual interests as they engage with coursework on a wide range of topics, draw inspiration from visiting experts, take part in Asia-related events on campus and around Boston, and study abroad in Asia.
This interdisciplinary and cross-cultural training provides a foundation for careers in business, government, teaching, journalism, non-profits, and many other professions. It is also good preparation for graduate school, as it teaches essential skills in thinking critically across the humanities and social sciences.
