Mari Tomunen

Biography

Mari Tomunen is a dual-qualified (New York, Finland) lawyer working at Goodwin Procter LLP. She advises blockchain, cryptocurrency and other digital asset companies with legal and regulatory issues, most commonly those related to securities, commodities and corporate law. She has unique experience and industry knowledge from working dedicatedly with several dozens of blockchain ventures and governments helping them to operate through regulatory uncertainty.

Tomunen has also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Denny Chin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, NY, an associate in a Chambers-ranked Fintech group of a law firm in New York, and as a research assistant to former SEC Commissioner Robert J. Jackson, Jr. when he was a Professor at Columbia Law School, NY.

Tomunen graduated from Fordham University School of Law magna cum laude, and served as a staff member on Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law.
