Artificial Intelligence: Law and Policy
Gus Coldebella is teaching the "Artificial Intelligence: Law and Policy" course in the Fall 2025 semester. During his career, Coldebella has served as a law firm partner, prosecutor, general counsel, senior federal government official, and venture capital partner.
He is currently at True Ventures, the Silicon Valley-based early stage venture capital fund, where he helps the firm assess opportunities and risks in global public policy, law, and regulation, especially around AI, cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies.
Earlier in his career, Coldebella served as acting general counsel of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he led a team of 1,700 lawyers and focused on all major security issues confronting the nation. Coldebella was also chief legal officer of Circle, general counsel and chief compliance officer of Paradigm, and a litigation and government investigations partner in the Boston and D.C. offices of Goodwin Procter. He also served as a special assistant district attorney in Middlesex County, MA.
He holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a B.A. from Colgate, where he served as vice chair of its Board of Trustees and president of its Alumni Council.
