From May 3-6, members of our lab attended the annual Symposium on Biomaterials, Fuels and Chemicals (SBFC) hosted by the Society of Industrial Microbiology (SIMB). Undergraduate researchers Claire and Bella joined forces to present an invited 60-second rapid fire oral preview of the poster they then shared on our work on sustainable production of xylitol. Postdoctoral researcher Dr. Sarvada presented a poster on our scale-up, process modeling, and techno-economic analysis of xylitol production. We also had some time to take our lab mascot Lil' Baldy to see the sites in New Orleans.
