Tricia Gould is the Director of Externship Programs at Boston College Law School. She received her bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and a Master’s in Social Work degree from Boston College School of Social Work, followed by six years working in child protection services. Gould then received her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, followed by over twenty-five years dedicated to public service working in the prosecution community.
Gould worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Massachusetts Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases in both single justice and jury sessions in District and Superior courts, presented cases to the Grand Jury, and argued appellate matters in assigned cases. From there, she was selected by the National District Attorneys Association to spearhead the first of a kind national non-profit center to train prosecutors and law enforcement regarding legal issues in impaired driving and vehicular homicide cases. She also assisted in implementing training programs for prosecutors in the Ukraine and Russian Federation.
Gould then returned to Massachusetts to become the Director of Training for the Massachusetts District Attorneys Association where she developed and delivered training programs for prosecutors and victim-witness advocates throughout the state. She designed the first statewide trial advocacy training program for prosecutors in Massachusetts. Gould later joined the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office where she first served as the Director of District Courts, Prevention and Programs and later as the Director of Training & Professional Development for the office. In this role, Gould was responsible for the development and delivery of training programs and resources for assistant district attorneys, victim witness advocates, paralegals and support staff. She also coordinated the outreach, recruitment and hiring process for all new employees and ran the Summer Intern Program.
After nine years Gould left the DA’s Office to work as an Assistant Director at Northeastern University School of Law’s Center for Co-op & Career Development. In 2019 she joined the staff at Boston College Law School’s Center for Experiential Learning where she currently serves as the Externship Program Director.
