Like libraries everywhere, Burns Library was forced in mid-March to close its doors to the Boston College campus community and to visiting researchers due to the coronavirus public health emergency. Staff transitioned to working from home to support online teaching, enhance catalog records, explore potential acquisitions, and prepare future exhibits. Unfortunately, the library had to cancel several events planned in collaboration with colleagues in Irish Studies, but looks forward to rescheduling them and organizing new programs as it becomes feasible to do so.
