The Rappaport Center congratulates Richard Cordray on his appointment to serve as the top official overseeing the federal government's $1.6 trillion of student loans and financial aid programs. Cordray, the Rappaport Center's most recent Jerome Lyle Rappaport Distinguished Visiting Professor, will lead the Biden Administration's Education Department's Office of Federal Student Aid. The appointment was announced yesterday by Education Secretary Miguel Cardona.
