Dean A. Elwell ’20 finished third in the Adam A. Milani Disability Law Writing Competition. The national competition is sponsored by the Mercer University School of Law and the ABA Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law, and honors the work of the late Professor Adam Milani, a passionate advocate for disability rights, an accomplished legal scholar, and a former faculty member at the Mercer University Law School.

Elwell was grateful for the support that he received. “I’d like to thank the sponsors of the competition,” he said. “I owe an even greater thanks to the judges, lawyers, and professors who have been my patient mentors.”

Kristen Egger of Washburn University School of Law and Kjirsten Durand Johnson from Elon University School of Law finished first & second respectively. A panel made up of legal writing faculty from law schools across the country judged each entrant’s work before making final decisions.
