Thomas Maffei has been a member of the Massachusetts bar since 1971 and has taught Professional Responsibility at Boston College Law School for more than twenty years. He is a graduate of Boston College and Boston College Law School. Following his graduation from law school, Maffei served as a law clerk to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. He was a partner at one of Boston’s large law firms for many years and, in 2000, he started his own firm. Presently, he is Senior Counsel to Sherin and Lodgen, LLP, a mid-sized Boston law firm. Maffei is a civil litigator. He has spent much of his career representing law firms and lawyers in bar discipline matters, professional liability cases and ethics matters. Maffei has served as a member of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers and as President of the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
