John Hitt

Biography

John Hitt serves as an Assistant Attorney General in the Constitutional and Administrative Law Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.  Following law school, he served as a Law Clerk and Deputy Chief Law Clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. He then served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable J. Harold Flannery of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. After clerkships, he served as an Assistant Attorney General spending time as Opinions Coordinator in the Government Bureau and Chief of the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Division in the Public Protection Bureau.  He was also a litigation associate at the Boston law firm of Donnelly, Conroy & Gelhaar, a partner in the Boston office of Cosgrove, Eisenberg & Kiley, P.C., and the Managing Partner of Drohan, Hitt & Hadas LLC and Hitt & Hadas LLC. For more than a decade, he has also served as a co-editor and author of the Massachusetts Administrative Law and Practice Manual (LexisNexis).
