Apply to Honors Programs
Applications will not be reviewed until they are complete. It is applicants' responsibility to track their status and follow up on missing documents.
Below is the list of necessary documents required to complete your BCE Honors Six-Week Credit Course Program application.
- Must be a rising high school senior and will graduate in 2027
- Application form and $70 application fee
- Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or supervisor.
- A 250-500 words essay, stating your reasons for applying to the BCE Honors program and for applying for the specific course (s).
- High school transcript(s) – The required GPA to be eligible for BCE is 3.5 or better out of 4.0. Please note that all international transcripts must be translated to English with GPA equivalencies as applicable. For International applicants only- a TOEFL or IELTs score, if English is your second language. BCE requires English proficiency demonstrated by a minimum 100 TOEFL iBT, 7.5 IELTS, or 130 Duolingo English Test.
- The TOEFL or IELTS score may not be substituted by other standardized test scores such as the PSAT and SAT. International students currently studying, for at least two years, at a school where the primary language of instruction is in English may request a waiver from the TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo requirement. You must submit a school transcript that clearly states that English is the primary language of instruction.
The application, admittance, and all communication must be made by the participant and/or the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) listed on the application. A third-party, educational consultant, or other party employed by a parent, applicant or family is not recognized by the Boston College Experience as an authorized representative of applicant/student.
Applications submitted by a third party on behalf of the applicant are not acceptable and will not be considered during the application review process.
Application Instructions
Fill out personal information such as name, address, etc.
- BCE Honors applicants can take one or two for-credit courses, indicating your preferred choice(s) from a list of curated courses.
- Indicate native language, at least one guardian contact, and school information.
- If your native language is not English, a document upload on proof of language proficiency is required. This document would either be a proof for waiver or a language test score if none of the waiver criteria can be met. In 250-500 words, please state your reasons for applying to the BCE Honors program and for applying for the specific course(s).
Invite recommender(s) through the portal (2) recommenders for non-credit program applicants). Recommenders will be sent an email to upload recommendations.
Continue monitoring your applicant portal and upload document(s) until all requirements are met (followed by a green tick).
