Located on the Brookline Campus of Boston College, Messina College is a newly established two-year residential program that will open in July of 2024.
Beginning in the inaugural 2024–25 academic year, Messina College will provide 100 first-generation, high financial need students each year with an opportunity to pursue an associate's degree from Boston College, with the goal of preparing them to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program or to begin their careers. As undergraduates at BC’s ninth school, Messina College students will have full access to Boston College's campus, facilities, and programs.
Recruitment efforts target high schools in the greater Boston, Bridgewater/Brockton, Lawrence/Lowell, Springfield, and Worcester areas in Massachusetts, along with greater Providence in Rhode Island.
“As a first-generation college student, I didn’t have people to talk to about applying to college or navigating college life. Serving as dean of Messina College will enable me to provide access and vital support to students who are often facing that same uphill battle. Messina College is grounded in Boston College’s academic excellence, student support, and caring faculty.”
