Welcome to Boston College from the BC Career Center

We’re excited to meet you and to get to know you. The Boston College Career Center's goal is to help you discover your unique gifts and talents so you can pursue meaningful work and live a meaningful life. It’s important to start thinking about career exploration during your first year -- but that doesn’t mean you need to figure it all out. It means following your interests, getting involved, compiling experiences, and reflecting on.

Getting Started

In order to help you get started with this process, we are asking all incoming students to complete a series of self-assessments using the Focus 2 Career portal by Sunday, July 31, 2022. This exercise will provide you an opportunity to reflect on how your skills, interests, and values align with BC-specific majors as well as a range of occupations.

Complete Your Self-Assessment

Any incoming student who wishes to debrief their results should plan to schedule a meeting with an Exploration Career Coach at the Boston College Career Center once the fall semester begins.

Other Ways to Start Exploring

**Please note: Some of these items will not be able to be completed until first-year students are given access to Handshake and Eagle Exchange in late August.

We look forward to working with you on defining a career with purpose and meaning. Don't hesitate to email us at career.center@bc.edu or drop into our office during our office hours.
