Assistant Director, Career Education
Ama is an Assistant Director of Career Education at the Career Center and the head coach for the Healthcare and Nursing Career Cluster. She is a student affairs professional who has lived, studied, and worked with diverse populations in four countries, and brings a multicultural experience to her role at the Boston College Career Center.
Ama received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics with a minor in Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon. From there she earned her Master of Education in Student Affairs from Rutgers University and spent two and a half years in Switzerland, learning German.
Prior to her current role, she worked as Career Community Advisor for Health Professions and Life Sciences at Wellesley College. She was also an academic advisor at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where she spent time working with the Pre-Health Advising Office, preparing prospective students for post-graduate health professions programs, while also serving as a member of the interview committee.
She has experience working at Emirates Airlines in Dubai, U.A.E, and at Rutgers University in New Jersey through a variety of multi-disciplinary roles (student life, global education, and multicultural & academic affairs).
