Meet Our Team

Joseph (Joe) Du Pont is the Associate Vice President of Career Services & Integrated Learning at Boston College and a member of the Division of Student Affairs leadership team. In his role, he provides strategic direction, builds partnerships, and strengthens on and off campus initiatives to realize the Career Center’s mission of empowering all Boston College students to incorporate their career goals into a broader sense of living a life of meaning and impact.  Joe has over 20 years of experience in career services, previously working as Dean of the Hiatt Career Center at Brandeis University as well as Vice President of Career Services for Teach for America. Before entering the fields of student affairs and career services, Joe worked as a corporate attorney in New York City. 

Joe is the author of several articles and publications and has presented in many forums about organizational change, assessment, and leadership within career services. Joe currently co-chairs the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Future of Career Services Leadership Task Force and previously served on its board of directors. In 2016, Joe co-founded the Student Career Development Knowledge Committee of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).  He is also on the organizing committee for the Global Career Services Summit which will take place in Singapore in March 2020. The summit provides a forum annually to build a global network of career services colleagues to share observations and insights about the ever-changing world of career services. 

Joe holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from New York University, and an A.B. in History and Religion from Duke University. 

Within his current role, Joe also meets with current students and alumni for appointments, specifically those interested in entering the legal profession. He also is active within the community; you can often find him at a student event or cheering on an Eagles sports team. Outside of work, Joe enjoys cooking for family and friends, reading legal crime thrillers, and any activity that brings him closer to the water.

Fun Fact
Joe once traveled 300 miles out of his way to ride the roller coasters at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio.

Rachel leads our very talented team in creating and implementing a student-centered strategy to meet the ever-evolving and varied career development needs of Boston College students. One of her favorite parts of this work is the broad range of responsibilities, including supervision, project management, strategic planning, data analysis, and so much more. But what truly keeps her excited about her work is the opportunity to work with and learn from our well-rounded and diverse students and the inspiration that comes from watching a student discover what brings them joy, what they are good at, and what type of person they want to become.

Prior to BC, Rachel worked in career services at MIT and in academic advising at Mass. College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (now MCPHS University). She also had short stints in public relations and marketing immediately after college. Rachel received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and her M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College.

As a mom of three, she doesn't have much time to pursue outside interests at this stage of her life (unless you'd call arranging carpools an interest!), but she does enjoy reading, doing puzzles (jigsaw, crossword, etc.) and going on (short) runs with friends.

First Job Out of College
Rachel worked as an account coordinator at a public relations firm in New York City.

Julie leads the Employer Engagement team within BC’s Career Center. The team connects employers with BC students seeking rewarding internship and job opportunities. Julie enjoys building relationships with employers and alumni—and helping bring them to BC’s campus to meet with talented and engaged students.

Prior to joining the Career Center, Julie oversaw donor relations programs in the development offices of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, BC, and Georgetown, helping attract, accept, and manage philanthropic gifts for scholarships and medical research. Her favorite pastimes include watching her husband coach and her kids play sports, reading, and chilling out with her pets.

Kayla oversees the science, technology, and engineering career cluster. Her responsibilities include providing individual and group career coaching to students and recent alumni, organizing career development-related programming for the cluster, and building relationships with campus partners and employers. She has also recently taken on the responsibility of managing the very talented operations team!

Before joining the Career Center team, Kayla was as an academic and career advisor in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Kayla graduated from the University of Massachusetts–Amherst with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, and she also has a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Massachusetts–Lowell. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach, exploring new places, and cuddling with her calico cat named Mira.

As a first-generation college graduate and woman in STEM, I have first-hand experience with the challenges of navigating the complexities of higher education and have used this as motivation to work toward creating an environment that is inclusive and equitable for all students. In addition to coaching students individually, she visits many classrooms to lead reflective workshops. Julianne worked in media at the Boston Red Sox and WGBH before transitioning to higher education. Prior to joining the Career Center team, she held student-facing roles at UC Davis and Brandeis University. Julianne graduated from Boston College with bachelor's degrees in communication and film studies and holds two master's degrees, one in women & gender studies from Brandeis University and another in sociology from UC Davis. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and beagle.

Philip oversees the Consulting, Finance, and Business career cluster. His responsibilities include providing individual and group career coaching to students and recent alumni, organizing career development related programming for the cluster, and building relationships with campus partners and employers. Before joining the Career Center team, Philip worked at Goldman Sachs in senior roles spanning divisional CFO, COO and Diversity and Talent Development positions. Philip graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in Economics and he also has a Master of Business Administration from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. Outside of work, Philip enjoys exploring the coast and islands of Maine.

Fun Fact
A few years after starting his post college career in the Boston area, he relocated to Europe for three years working and living in Geneva, Switzerland and London, England.

My approach to coaching focuses on assisting individuals in determining their short and long-term goals, then providing guidance in making choices that support these goals as well as personal and professional needs. My goal is to help individuals identify and take ownership of their needs, which will be impactful on their success and happiness.

Kamryn oversees the government, law, and public policy cluster and provides individual and group career coaching to students in this cluster. Her responsibilities also include organizing career development-related programming for the cluster and building relationships with campus partners and employers.

Before joining the Career Center team, Kamryn worked as an academic researcher and writer at Brandeis University, and subsequently worked as the Assistant Director of Admission at Suffolk Law. Kamryn graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and is in process of finalizing a Masters degree in Politics at Brandeis. Outside of work, Kamryn enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her family and dog Birdie.

Peter provides career coaching and advice for students interested in the Education, Nonprofit and Social Impact (ENS) careers. He also organizes a variety of ENS events, such as alumni panels and networking nights, career treks to employers, and hands-on resume, cover letter and interview workshops – to help students explore their interests, prepare for the job, internship and graduate school application process, and connect with great opportunities. Before starting at BC, Peter worked as a research assistant at the Rhode Island state prison and as a case manager in a group home and, for three years, ran his own window cleaning business. Peter earned his B.A. in history from Brown University and his M.Ed. in higher education administration from Boston College. Outside of work, Peter loves spending time outdoors biking and hiking with his family, and he enjoys long train rides with his train-obsessed son.

Peter loves traveling in the US. He worked in Yellowstone National Park for a summer and lived and skied in Sun Valley, Idaho for two years.

Tara oversees the Exploration career cluster, supporting students who are undecided about their future academic or professional goals. She encourages students to reflect on their unique strengths, skills, and values as they explore a variety of industries and occupations. Tara also manages the Career Center’s Peer Career Coaching Program.

Tara joined the Boston College Career Center team in 2021. Prior to arriving at Boston College, Tara instructed externship and career readiness courses at Roxbury Community College. Tara also worked for twelve years at the Boston Private Industry Council where she managed career exploration and internship programs for Boston Public School students. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Northeastern University and a master’s in Public Administration from Suffolk University.

In her free time, Tara enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Jonathan oversees the Healthcare, Nursing, and Counseling career cluster. His responsibilities include individual and group job readiness career coaching to students and alumni, organizing career development related workshops and programming for Healthcare, Nursing, and Counseling interested students, and building relationships with campus partners and employers.  Before joining the Career Center team, Jonathan spent 15 ½ years at a Boston-area non-profit. During his tenure, Jonathan helped Boston Public High School students secure jobs and internships across the city, including at many major healthcare employers and community health centers. In addition, Jonathan serves as the Group Fitness Manager and Lead Boxing Trainer at Lynx Fitness Club, located at Boston Park Plaza Hotel.  Jonathan graduated from Bowdoin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Legal Studies and a minor in Education and holds a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Northeastern University.  Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his wife, their two boys, and their Boston Terrier, Sonny.

Jonathan had perfect attendance in middle and high school and is an undefeated amateur Golden Gloves Boxing champion.

Howard is the Communication, Arts, and Marketing career coach at Boston College, where he helps students interested in communication, creative expression, and media careers. He offers personalized coaching and resources for fields like journalism, public relations, performance and studio art, and digital communication. Howard emphasizes storytelling, audience engagement, and strategic communication, equipping students with the skills to effectively convey information. His holistic approach fosters both career development and creativity in their professional journeys.

Before joining the Career Center, Howard spent over 3 years as a Resident Director in the Office of Residential Life at Boston College, working primarily in first-year communities. Howard received his master's in Higher Education and Leadership from the University of Texas at Austin and his bachelor's in Political Science and Communications from Auburn University. A native Texan, Howard enjoys spending his free time exploring New England hiking with his partner, and brushing up his Graphic Design skills in Photoshop.

Diane engages employers to help them to recruit Boston College students. Prior to starting her career in Higher Education, Diane worked in a variety of roles from leading a post grad service program, to organizing large corporate volunteer events, to supporting families in a pediatric health clinic. She’s energized by the Career Center mission of empowering all students to pursue meaningful careers and lives.

Outside of work, Diane likes visiting museums, trying out different recipes, and is always up for a new icebreaker.

Fun Fact: Diane is in a book club that has been reading together since 2017.

Carole works with the employer engagement team and is responsible for scheduling employer events and on-campus interviews. Before joining the Career Center, Carole worked for the Police Department in Framingham, MA. She previously was a pre-school teacher and enjoyed working with three and four year old children. Carole graduated from Boston College with an A.B. in Theology. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, reading, being at the ocean, and spending time with her three grandchildren. Carole has worked at the Career Center for more than 25 years.

Joanne has more than 30 years of experience working in career services. Joanne is a member of the employer engagement team in the Career Center and manages the on-campus recruiting program.  She maintains relationships with hundreds of employers who conduct on-campus interviews, information sessions and other recruiting events to help them engage with BC talent.  Before joining the BC Career Center, Joanne held several positions in the Hiatt Career Center at Brandeis University.  Joanne graduated from the Wood College of Advancing Studies with a degree in corporate systems. Joanne is proud to have worked with so many talented BC students and valued employer partners during her 20+ years at the Heights. Outside of work, Joanne enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog.  She also enjoys cooking, gardening, and being outdoors (when the weather is not too cold).

Joanne has a Mini-Cooper.  It just happens to be her 4-legged mini-dachshund named Cooper.

Clare is the Administrative & Programs Specialist and is a member of the operations team. Before joining the Career Center, Clare worked for the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion as a Research Coordinator. She graduated from Boston College with a major in Clinical Psychology and minor in Medical Humanities. Her hobbies include watching movies, reading, and going to yoga.

Audrey serves as the Assistant Director of Marketing & Digital Engagement. Audrey is a proud 2024 Boston College alumna, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication. With a love for all things social, Audrey enjoyed leading the Social Fellows as a student, managing the @bostoncollege Instagram and TikTok accounts for the Office of University Communications. She thrives on creative strategy, meaningful engagement, and collaboration. Outside of work, you can find Audrey spending time with family and friends, running around Boston, or anticipating Taylor Swift’s next album release.
