The Montserrat Office continues to grow and work to build a more just and welcoming community for students of all economic backgrounds at Boston College. We currently serve about 2,200 Montserrat students, which constitutes roughly 15 percent of the undergraduate student body.
Who is eligible?
The decision as to which students are Montserrat eligible is made solely in the Office of Financial Aid. Each academic year, the Montserrat office receives an updated list of students providing contact information but no actual account of the student's Financial Aid Award. The names of each Montserrat student are kept strictly confidential and are only known to our office and the Office of Financial Aid.
How do students qualify?
- Eligibility for the program is based on federal and institutional guidelines for financial need. The Office of Financial Aid is able to determine the most accurate financial aid packages and designate those students that qualify as the highest need
- Because this identification process is done solely through their office, we have no access to students' personal and financial information
- it is important to note that should your financial aid package change from one year to the next, and they fall outside of the 'Montserrat range,' they will still remain a Montserrat student throughout their BC career
