Speaker:  John Baldovin, S.J.

How has the Vatican II liturgical reform changed the Church? Where are we now with the reform? What lies in the future? John Baldovin, S.J., Ph.D., Professor of Historical and Liturgical Theology at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, discusses the place of the liturgical reforms in relationship to the reforms of the Second Vatican Council, specifically as expressions of an ecclesiology of baptism as opposed to one of clerical hierarchy, reemphasizing the role of individual members as agents serving God and at work in the Church. Fr. Baldovin points out areas where progress is still being made in realizing this transition and how the Church might move forward.

This lecture is part of: Re-energizing the Renewal: A Webinar Symposium Series to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Second Vatican Council. The Symposium Series is sponsored by Spirit Alive: The CSJ Institute for Faith Inquiry and Education.
