Understand Hiring Timelines

Every career field follows unique recruiting cycles and general hiring timelines (though you may find variation between organizations in the same industry). To succeed in your job or internship search, you should be aware of the recruiting cycles for your industry of choice.

Organizations recruit based on different hiring strategies: those who know their hiring needs early on will begin their recruiting season earlier, whereas other organizations may conduct “just-in-time” hiring strategy and release offers as positions become vacant. Here, we provide information that can serve as a guideline for your own unique job or internship search based on when BC students have been hired in the past.

Because landing an offer takes several months of preparation, planning, and searching, you should plan ahead to access other resources such as Career Center coaching appointments, EagleLink, and conversations with recruiters and professionals in the industry to ensure you are taking the right steps to achieve your career goals.
