Carroll School of Management Associate Dean for Undergraduates Richard C. Keeley has been appointed interim director of the Office of International Programs and the McGillycuddy-Logue Center for Undergraduate Global Studies, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs Donald Hafner announced last week.
Keeley succeeds Bernd Widdig, who left Boston College last fall after four years to take another position in higher education.
A 1972 alumnus, Keeley has served as CSOM undergraduate dean since 1995, after four years as dean of administration. He oversees the undergraduate management curriculum and is the liaison to faculty and department chairpersons. Since July of 2005, he has also served as director of programs at the University’s Winston Center for Leadership and Ethics. Keeley has chaired a variety of University-wide committees, including a committee on international partnerships, and taken part in a campus planning effort supported by the Lilly Foundation.
The Office of International Programs is chiefly responsible for assisting Boston College students in their study-abroad experiences. The office maintains a comprehensive network of more than 60 academic partnerships in more than 30 countries worldwide and hosts more than 200 international exchange students annually from BC’s partner universities around the world.
The McGillycuddy-Logue Center for Undergraduate Global Studies, established in 2008, promotes and fosters innovative international learning for undergraduate students at Boston College. Programs and activities offered through the center include the McGillycuddy-Logue and Islamic Civilization and Societies travel grants, and the Global Service and Justice Program.
